I had one of those moments you treasure today with my baby. He’s 15 months, and an extremely active little guy. He’s cuddly, but only for 15 second bursts, when he sees something else he’d rather be doing. He usually doesn’t even want me to rock him at nap time because he’s got toys to play with and things to do.
But today he cuddled up into my chest and snuggled with me until he fell asleep. I had a million things to do, but I’ve become old and wise enough to know (after three kids) that moments like these don’t come along often, and you must stop and revel in them when they do.
We rocked and snuggled for about ten minutes, while I tried to absorb the moment to remember it when he’s 16 and says he hates me because he can’t have a car. I studied his long eyelashes, the tiny dimples on his hands, the way he likes to cross his feet when he’s sleeping, the sound of his breathing.
Thank you Lord for each of my babies. Keep them safe. Grow them strong. Teach them to love and to cherish. Give them wisdom and grace. Help me to love them as you do.

Very sweet.
You ARE wise. And I love that you got a couple pictures and wrote the story. You will treasure that as much during the years to come. Here’s to many more such moments with your kids and to memories that last.
