This is one of my comfort drinks. Its sweet, hot, and smells like the holidays. It also takes about 2 minutes to make, and is something the whole family can enjoy. I need things like this in my life right now. Maybe you do too.
Hot Caramel Apple Cider
Warm up some apple cider (or apple juice) in a small pot on your stove. Medium low heat will warm it up in just a few minutes. You don’t want it to boil, just come to a nice steamy simmer. Pour in 2 Tablespoons, or more to taste, of some caramel. (I am totally in love with Fran’s Chocolate’s Real Caramel Sauce right now!). Stir till combined.
If you’re having a crowd, you can also keep this simmering in a crock pot for a number of hours and serve as needed. Just keep it on low, so you don’t scorch the caramel.
Serve with a dollop of whipped cream, or without- however you like it.
Now sit back and warm up while you gaze at the Christmas tree, or watch your little ones play. That’s how I like to enjoy it at least.
Merry Christmas everyone!
